Kevin has been coach for the top state ranked 00 boys as well as the 01 Alliance boys teams for 5 years. Championships at Disney, Crossroads, and Blue Chip are among the many victories for the teams.
Kevin Robson is in his sixth season as an assistant coach with the Hoosiers after one season as a volunteer assistant coach. In 2017, Robson also took on the responsibility of recruiting coordinator.
In 2017, the Hoosiers reached the College Cup Final, falling in double overtime to Stanford. Indiana was unbeaten in the team’s first 24 matches and posted an overall record of 18-1-6 on the year, finishing the year ranked No. 2 in the nation. Robson and the rest of the IU coaches were named the Men’s Midwest Region Staff of the Year (SOY) for Division I Institutions by the United Soccer Coaches.
In the four years since Robson has been on staff, the Hoosiers have posted a record of 55-13-21 (.736), earning top 16 seeds (No. 5 seed, No. 15 seed, No. 7 seed and No. 2 seeds overall) in the NCAA Tournament in each of his four years.
Robson returned to Bloomington in July 2013 after stints as both a player (2003-06) and student coach (2007). Robson was a member of the Hoosiers’ 2003 and 2004 NCAA title teams and won Big Ten titles in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Robson led the Hoosiers in assists with six in 2006 and finished second in that category on the 2004 title team.
